Brittany and Mike, Inn on Peaks Island Wedding, Portland ME
We were so excited for Brittany and Mike’s wedding. It was a long summer waiting for September to finally arrive when we would get to see them again and capture their amazing wedding day. Britt and Mike (and their families) treated us like we were part of the family. They were so welcoming and kind and the day was lovely because of it..thank you guys <3
The plan for the day (it was a 12 hour day and there were a lot of moving parts!) was to begin at their respective rental houses in Portland, to capture the festivities while Brittany and Mike prepared for their day. Then it was on to downtown Portland for their wedding ceremony. Their church had just recently been renovated and it was nothing short of spectacular!! Cathedral of Immaculate Conception has a dramatic 150’ long aisle and it’s tall arches and pillars - really gorgeous..perfection!
After the ceremony, we all jumped on trolley’s and headed over to the Eastern Promenade (waterfront park) for a few photos before departing on the private ferry that was waiting for us at the Casco Bay terminal.
Peaks Island is just a short 15 minute ferry ride from Portland. Our favorite part of that ride is as we approach the island and you can see The Inn on Peaks just ahead. It’s a really lovely venue and Jayson the coordinator is fantastic and really fun to work with.
Brittany and Mike rented golf carts for us to drive around the island and take photos along the way. We met them for a site visit earlier in the year to pinpoint the best spots ahead of time, so we already knew basically where we wanted to go. The drama of the waves crashing into the rocks makes for an incredible backdrop and we were lucky to be able to capture it for them. It was so fun with Brittany’s parents driving one cart and Mike’s parents driving another, we all laughed a lot and made the most of our time before the reception.
Their wedding was pure amazingness. Truly.
We hope you enjoy this little glimpse into their wedding day.
